Projects
This is just a place to throw items that
don't
fit anywhere else!
Perikon Detector
(Reproduction of type)
This is a Perkon crystal radio detector I made just for fun.
It is machined from solid brass on a lathe.
It has replaceable "cups" so you can change to different
minerals
and wires.
Steel wire, Phosphor Bronze wire, Galena crystal, Iron Pyrite,
Bornite
or Peacock Ore, and Zincite
are what I use, but Carborumdum, Silicium, or Molybdenite can
also
be used.

The RCA Balanced
Armature
100B
Loud Speaker Unit
(Restoration)
This is a RCA 100B Loud Speaker (I
wouldn't
call it loud by today's standards)
It is an early 1900's speaker. Some of
the
early units were Balanced Armature units.
Before
After
Stand about 4" tall !!!
Fully functioning speaker, but will
hardly
run on a crystal set.
Made for tube radios.
My Next Projects
(Restoration)
Old Crystal Radio. Not sure if home-brew
from
the 1920's or a "factory" radio.
I think I have my work cut out for me. Stay "tuned"!!
I hate to touch this home-brew. An old loose coupler found
in a
barn
in 1999 in Ohio.
It still runs very good! Good DX also.
The Pacent model 30 (original not reproduction) is what goes
with
this radio.
